Tis the Season For Holiday Shopping

Posted: Thursday October 27, 2016 • Category: Digital/Interactive

With the holiday season approaching, shopping for your loved ones has become easier with the use of a smartphone. Catalogs and print ads are slowly becoming a part of retail history, while videos and display ads on mobile devices are becoming increasingly effective. Many shoppers depend on the Internet for feedback on products and to inform them on where these products can be found. According to Google, 64 percent of smartphone users search for gifts to buy before heading to the store. Buyers can save time by doing background checks on products and researching consumer reviews before entering retail stores. Sometimes images or static reviews are not enough; Retail Micro-Moments issued by Google calculated that 68 percent of smartphone shoppers use YouTube as a research tool when browsing for the perfect present to get a livelier feel of the product.

Neilsen Study Reports Users Spending More Time Online Via Smartphones than PCs

Posted: Tuesday February 11, 2014 • Category: Digital/Interactive

The latest Neilsen study called the Digital Consumer Report has some pretty interesting findings for digital marketers in terms of mobile devices and consumer behavior online. As was predicted a few years ago, users are now spending more time per month online via smartphone apps rather than on a PC. The average user now spends 34 hours, 17 minutes a month browning the Internet via a smartphone compared to 27 hours, 3 minutes browsing on a computer.

Mobile devices have also affected how consumers watch TV, as Americans can now consume content across multiple devices. Less time is being spent watching live television on an actual TV and more time is being spent watching "time shifted TV" that is streamed online via phones, tablets and computers. This data reflects the trends that we have seen in our own clients' monthly analytics. For many of them, visits from mobile devices are outnumbering visits from desktops.

Airline's "Real Time Giving" Is A Holiday Miracle

Posted: Thursday December 12, 2013 • Category: Digital/Interactive

This heartwarming story has been making its round on the Internet this week and if you haven't seen it yet, it's worth a watch. In an age where airlines are skimping their customers left and right and customer service ratings are at an all-time low, it's amazing to see a stunt like what Canada's WestJet pulled off recently. A virtual Santa asked each passenger what they wanted for Christmas on a live video feed. Little did they know, their wishes no matter how big or small would be fulfilled as the airline scrambled to purchase each item and wrap it for customers to pick up at baggage claim. Their reactions are priceless. Talk about bringing holiday cheer!
